There aren't many beauty bits you can score with just a $5 note. In Australia, anyway. But there are a few! Here are my faves:
Original Source shower gels ($3 - $4 depending where you get 'em! I buy from The Reject Shop)
I'm sure you guys know how much I love these. The one in my pic is an unused backup (yeah, I buy shower gel backups) and is one of my fave scents from the range, the other being Lime. These shower gels don't moisturise or do anything spectacular to my skin, but they smell awesome. And that's why I buy them. If you haven't tried this range and enjoy nice-smelling showers, pick one up next time you're floating around the shops.
Ulta3 polishes ($2.75)
Who doesn't love Ulta3 polishes? Not only are they stupid-cheap, but they're also good quality. I've not yet tried one that's let me down! Price and quality aside, Ulta3 also do awesome collections and stock a massive amount of finishes and colours. AND GLITTERS (the one in my pic is over the rainbow)! So much love for Ulta3.
Essence Kajal Pencil in All I Want ($1.75)
$1.75. Seriously. I think there are packets of gum that cost more. This is what I use for my lower waterline, to brighten up my eyes and get rid of the redness. I know that some of you find this a little dark, so it may not be the best for those with pale skin. For me, it's perfect. The one in my pic is my backup (I'm currently using up my teeny tiny one and it looks shit in pics).
Beauty by Zazie Nail Polish Remover ($1.99)
HEAD TO CHEMIST WAREHOUSE RIGHT NOW. This stuff is the shit. Plus, it's the cheapest nail polish remover around. I spotted it ages ago and picked one up mostly because I was curious. And because I love finding things that are dirt-cheap. When it ran out, I had a bitch of a time finding it again. A week or so ago, I spotted a stack of them. And promptly bought 3 bottles. Go get now. P.S. It's got acetone in it, so if you don't like it/can't use it, don't buy this stuff.
Palmolive Intensive Moisture Shampoo ($4 from Kmart)
I'm not gonna lie to you - I buy this stuff mainly for the scent. If you smell it straight from the bottle, it smells average - fruitysweet. Buuut, when you throw it on your hair and form a lather, it smells just like Lush's Snow Fairy. To me, anyway. AND THE SCENT LASTS. Plus, it's a decent shampoo. Gets the job done. Cheers.
Beauty Care Co. Cotton Tips ($2 from Kmart)
Not too exciting, but totally necessary. Especially if you're like me and regularly fuck up your eye stuff. I wasn't convinced these would be any good, but couldn't resist giving them a shot. I thought they'd probably have a tiny slither of cotton wrapped around the ends so I'd end up gouging an eye out while fixing up my wonky liner. In actuality, the cotton on these is perfect. Feels just like the other brands that make you fork out $4 for 100. YOU GET 625 OF THESE. Win.
Also wanna add rosewater to the mix. I used to buy 250ml bottles but am now onto giant 600ml ones. The 250ml bottle from Durra (found in Coles and Leb markets) is around $3. Great to refresh my moonface and use as finishing spray over makeup. I also use it as sort of a toner before I put on my slap.
Hope you liked!
