That aside, you are good for one thing - making dark and moody nail polish look extra special. There's nothing like seeing a flash of navy nails when it's cold out. God, I love it. Far too much, really.
Anywaaay, let's move on to the bloody point of this post - my fave lot of wintery polishes. Here's part one:
Orly's Sea Gurl, Orly's Flagstone Rush, Orly's See Yah, Australis' Vampy and Essence's Gold Old Buffy
Flagstone Rush and See Yah are my most recent purchases and I got them because the shades were exactly what this season's palette is all about - deep, earthy tones. Yum. I actually bought See Yah from one of Priceline's el-cheapo $4.99 Orly buckets. Not only is the colour delicious, but it also lasts on the nails for about 700 days. Here's a dodge pic of it on my digits:
I bought Essence's Gold Old Buffy (shit name) because of Emma and her evil, convincing ways. It's a deep, olive green with fine golden shimmer. Stupidly pretty! Dark and moody, but with a nice twist. Check it out on my nails (it's actually what I'm wearing RIGHT NOW) below. P.S. My pic makes the shimmer really noticable, but in reality, this shade is really dark. Looks almost black actually. However, the shimmer is pretty clear in sunlight.
Orly's Sea Gurl and Australis' Vampy were both gifted by PR and I adore them both. Sea Gurl is a murky, swamp-coloured shimmer (promise it's nice) and Vampy is a maroon creme with plenty of maroon shimmer. No swatches for now but you'll no doubt get some winter NOTDs featuring these in the near future.
Like any of these? Are you a dark nail fiend like I am?
PART TWO COMING SOON. WOOT.
